Grow a Garden That Works for You
The Sprout House helps you create a productive kitchen garden that fits your space, your family and the amount of gardening you actually want to do.
Whether you’re starting from scratch, trying to make an existing garden more successful, or simply want someone knowledgeable beside you throughout the growing season, I can help.
I offer personalized garden planning, planting, education and ongoing care along with seedlings grown in my greenhouse raised specifically with Maine gardens in mind.
PLAN
Every successful garden starts with a good plan.
I’ll help you decide what to grow, how much to plant, where everything should go and how to make the best use of your space. We’ll consider sunlight, soil, watering, trellising, pests, succession planting and most importantly, what you and your family actually want to eat!
PLANT
I start Sprout House seedlings as early as January and care for them throughout the winter and spring before gradually acclimating them to outdoor growing conditions.
Consulting clients receive 50% off Sprout House seedlings and with enough notice, I can grow specific varieties just for your garden.
GROW
Once your garden is planted, you decide how much help you’d like.
I can teach you how to care for your garden, care for it with you, or simply help care for it for you.
Regular visits can include pruning, trellising, fertilizing, pest identification and management, succession planting, harvesting, troubleshooting, seasonal planting and plenty of education along the way.
Gardening Should Be Enjoyable
A garden doesn’t have to be perfect to be successful.
My goal is to take away some of the frustration and guesswork that can make gardening overwhelming so you can spend more time enjoying your garden and eating what comes out of it.
Grow some food. Ask lots of questions. Enjoy your garden.
